You are aware of course that this "liberal" equating looking lustfully at women to adultery? I don't think that's much of an endorsement of "free love."
Although US cons & libs love to try to cram him into their personal political boxes, the reality is he's much to big to be confined to either.

Because they miss the point about Jesus.Oh they understand the salvation issue, but they don't understand the factors that Jesus showed in His life and teachings. They believe that it's up to the people who help others instead of the government.
I'm a daughter of a fundamentalist preacher and I'm now a democrat because I believe that the Democratic party is a lot closer to the teachings of Jesus Christ than the Republicans. Especially when you consider organizations such as Dems for Life, which support the the sanctity of Life are part of the Democratic party. And our numbers are growing.
I keep hearing how Jesus is love. And I believe it, but that does mean to help other people. Unfortunately, the churches do not have enough in their benevolence funds and deacons funds to handle all social programs (Just social security alone would take too much money).
Jesus healed and took care of people out of his compassion. And the reason I believe the conservatives don't understand this concept is that they don't see the total picture of why the poor still need help. There are way too many people who still need help and until the churches can pick up 100% of the tab, we will need to help them through governmental assistance.

The Conservative proper wing get at the same time did not start up to worship the the finest selection liberal popular to guy. the human beings who worshipped God in spirit and in truth grew to grow to be the conservative proper wing. we do not placed God right into a liberal or conservative field. He does no longer evaluate us to be liberal nor conservative. He looks at us as redeemed or damned. he's God. isn't it somewhat exciting that the conservative proper wingers as you call them are also those who attend non secular amenities frequently, and attempt to evolve their lives to the tenets of the Bible somewhat than attempting to evolve the Bible to the lives they opt to lead.

Yes Jesus was a liberal but you can not equate that to the liberal of today. The same is true of the founders of America in the revolution. The "conservatives" of that era backed England and opposed the revolt. But again those are not the liberals of today. Jesus and the libearls of our American revolution believed in so many things that modern liberals oppose they are no where near the same in reality. All you have to do is read the Bible and the Constitution to see that.

Apparently you are speaking of Jesus of Nasareth. It is not just
conservative folks who worship him - Democrats have been
brain washed as well. I think his importance comes from Gregorian using his supposed birth as a datum base for his
calendar. All the liberals that I know, put no importance to him.

That's an easy one. Jesus didn't want government to be taking care of the problems of hunger and poverty. He wanted people to help their neighbor on a one on one basis. He KNEW government wasn't the answer to the problem.
Too bad liberals didn't get the message.

Very good question, probably because they, and the Christian religon in general, have skewed his teachings, and taken them to mean something they do not... For example... it's ok to violate the 7th commandment, thou shalt not kill.

They didn't! To quote John Adams.
"Power always thinks that it is doing God's service when it is violating all his laws"
