First off.... What type of interface your hard drives are using? Are they IDE, SCSI, ATA, SATA, EIDE, etc?
Second, are they both internal?
If you are not familiar with the interfaces above, make sure you google them and find out the differences...
I'll assume your hard drives are IDE/EIDE, since they were once standard and are still common.
If this is the case, then all you have to do is set your primary (system partition) as the Master and set the second one as Slave using the jumpers on the Hard drive itself, connect both using a 80-pin IDE cable.

be particular the motherboard you receive helps the hard disk drive in question's variety,(SCSI, IDE, ect..)The hard disk drive in which you want to take the archives from must have the jumpers set to slave a million "in case you in hardship-free words have another hard disk drive set as regularly going on draw close". there purely isn't personality clashes between both operating platforms as residing house windows will with out delay change the force letter of the slave to variety from the regularly going on draw close. that is going to then seem below "My laptop" as a 2d harddive, next to force C:. that is going to then be accessible for all of your information extracting needs. =)

I have my second hard drive attached to my computer with a USB plug. (external hard drive)
The second drive gets a drive letter assigned to it and you move files just like moving from folder to folder.
