there are two things you can do (if your net is DSL or high speed)

1. Buy an Ethernet splitter. Plug the Ethernet cable coming from the modem to the splitter. Then plug another Ethernet cable on the splitter, and connect it to each computer. You can put several computers depending on the number of ports you have for output.Make sure you disable any firewall in both computers. Then, reset the modem. Unplug the modem for two minutes, when it comes back online, you should be ready to go.

2. If you wanna make it more stylish, run a wireless network connection. First, you'll need to buy a PC or laptop wireless card. Install it on the PC following the instructions. Once installed properly, buy a wireless router(try eBay or craiglist.org for better price). Then install the router on the PC with no Internet. They will tell you how to install it and how to to make it work on the CD. If you don't have the CD, plug the Ethernet cable coming from from the modem on the router, then another one to go to the PC without the wireless card. It can be used for thousands of PC. You will the steps easily, and you will be online. Don't forget to secure your network. If you wanna share your service to your neighbors, make sure they have a wireless card installed, and give them your password.

It depends on what kind of internet connection you have. If the connection is dial-up, you can have both computers hooked up but can only be online with one computer at a time. you would need to get a double phone jack and an extra phone wire.

If the connection is dsl then there are splitters that you hook up to everything in your house that uses a phone line. you can have more than one computer on the internet at the same time and still use the phone. You would need to contact the internet provider for the accessories(spliiters)

I'm not sure about cable internet due to never having it.

Hope this helps.

If you don't want to spend more money on the internet, there are two ways you can try:
1) you need to buy a wired router or wireless router.
2) Once you had that, then you could have connection for both computers.

if you have cable or dsl you can use a router. if they are desktops then all you have to do is run the ethernet cable from the router into the other computer. still just as fast and still only paying once. it is easy to set up and comes with step by step directions. if it is dial up you won't be able to do it. you can have them both plugged in but you would only be able to use 1 at a time.

A wireless router is what you need. Some internet providers supply these at a very reasonable cost and will help with the hook up. Call your internet provider and see what they suggest.
