No, it probably could not be worse. For Israel the perception and intimidating effect of being invincible is everything. That perception has been blown and Hezbollah will emerge stronger than ever.
Israel thought that it's version of collective punishment would turn the people of Lab anon against Hezbollah. Yet, hours after the cease fire, Hezbollah had their relief and humanitarian programs out and assisting in the rebuilding of southern Lebanon.
So, on the streets of the Middle East who are considered the bad guys and who the good guys?

Nope, but I don't consider this a stalemate. If Israel weren't being very careful and cautious, it would kick their butts. Israel is working for a peaceful buffer zone between Hezbollah and Israel so they can't pop missiles in there any more.

Noway, Israel extracted a hellish revenge over 8 deaths and 2 kidnapped soldiers. The world doesn't seem to agree with their evaluation. Six hundred or more dead, a country's infrastucture destroyed, plus using an endless supply of weapons and bombs supplied by the US.
Israel is not the world and the US had better come up with some master diplomacy.

There is no stalemate. Hezbollah has clearly won the war and terrorist Israel-US have been defeated decisively.
Only success these terrorists have is in killing large number of unarmed civilians in Lebanon.

Only if you'd call a stalemate a good resolution to any conflict where the lives of people are lost needlessly

Has-Bolas has gain so much notoriety with Israel's attack on Lebanon that there is no way Israel could possibly come out ahead on this one. If they were to go on until they completely eliminate Has-Bolas then maybe yes. But if they stop Has-Bolas will come back ten times bigger.

There is no good outcome. The peace will not last and more innocent civilians will die on both sides. There are only losers.
