Remove Pen Ink

I had the same problem a month ago... I was wearing a brown leather coat and I got a Sharpie mark on it and had no idea how to get it off. I tried rubbing it out with dish washing liquid like I normally do but apparently it doesn't work on leather because the stain didn't budge. I was hesititant at first to use Shout on it since it IS leather and the bottle doesn't include leather as a candidate, but I was desperate and tried it. I left Shout on it for twenty minutes and it disappeared!!! It was great considering the stain had been in for about 6 hours.

Hi......you can use two different things to remove the ink from the leather and neither will damage it . The first is hairspray, if you spray it on it will disolve the ink or if you prefer the second option (which is the better choice) use eucalyptus oil, it's great for stain removal on leather, walls, doors.....hope this helps you

I find that hairspray (the alcoholic kind in a pressurized can) does the best job for me. Get right up close and spray a short blast, & then quickly wipe it with a CLEAN white washcloth. Repeat if necessary. Hope this helps. Next time buy vinyl leather instead. It cleans easily and doesn't kill any animals.

Use rubbing alcohol and a cotton ball, dab it on and blot. The ink should start coming off immediately without no damage to the leather. Hairspray should work too, but you have to wash away the residue. Alcohol just evaporates.

Apply aerosol hairspray to the ballpoint pen ink and then rub; this will remove the ink from leather. My friend did this on a white leather chair and it worked.

Hairspray is the best way to remove the ink.... but if you've made a hole on the leather.....

I would try dish washing detergent and a little water on a clean
cloth and see if that can rub the ink mark off. I used that on a
brown suede jacket and it took the ink off of suede.
You can also try shampoo but I think I used dawn for dishes.

Well, here is my favorite site for this problem. The first link is a step-by-step, the second is 28 more tips, any of which may work for you. FYI, biro is *Brit* for pen, so they are talking about the same thing.

Hope you find something that works for you. Good luck!!
