... the theory being that the arrested 'suspects' pretended to be plotting, knowing they would be under surveillance, with the intention of causing huge disruption to UK air transport and making the UK government and security services either appear to have made up the plot or to look even more inept than they already did?

I overheard two guys talking about it in a pub.

The two guys were talking in English. I think I would only inform the police if I heard two guys discussing a plot ... not discussing whether another plot was a hoax or not.

Lieberman, who is "pro war" lost in CT. and the following day we got medicated with our daily government recommended dose of Terrorist Fears.

Those who promote this fear propaganda are obviously in both the Republican and Democratic Parties.

The number of alleged terrorists associated to this incident has risen and fell, risen and fell like a roller coaster. Many in the UK refuse to believe these individuals are guilty ... I wonder too.

Gas prices began to skyrocket ... then Israel invaded Lebanon, which seemed coincidental. Then Oh gee, there's a problem with corrosion in the AK Pipeline. (Was another excuse needed?)

An Indian Chief once said, "Oh how smooth the language of the whites, to make wrong seem like right and right to seem wrong."

I think there are still some "Colonists" working their expansionism magic from high political positions.

I think hoax is a bit strong of a word. However, it is kind of a win-win for the bad guys. Either they get caught and it causes major travel disruptions and fear in the west, or they don't get caught and pull off another spectacular attack.

There are, of course, those who think that 9/11 as well as this attack are secret conspiracies by the Bush administration to have an excuse for the war on terror. I think people who believe that need to have their tin foil hats adjusted... ;)

I think it goes further than that. These guys are victims of yet another example to instill fear in us. The governments need us to believe that "terrorists" are all around us and they caught them just in time!!! Give me a break.

Do you understand Urdu or Panjabi or Arabic?

What did they convey?

Personally, I do not care what it was.
Extra protection on our airports, airplanes, airlines certainly can not hurt.
I hope they step up the security even further.
