I'm kind of new to listening to Bob Dylan but he's already one of my favorites. I want to get a few more of his CDs but there's so many to choose from!

Any suggestions???

Blond on Blond is great and honestly the Essential Bob Dylan has all the best stuff on it,and let me tell you,he is one of the greats,he is a legend, don't listen to people who think Fall out Boy is the best ever, even though I like them,Dylan has been around over 30 years!Keep Listening!

Blood on the Tracks is my favorite, but he has way too many to say that one is better than the others. If I were you I would get a library card and go to your local county library. They should have a music section. Check out all the Bob Dylan CDs you can get your hands on and take them home and listen to them. You will find that he has an extremely diverse number of albums, including his early Woody Guthrie and folk music, protest-style songs, rock, country, and some 50's-ish style swing (Summer Days is one of my favorite songs). There's even more styles represented that I didn't mention. Bob Dylan is by far one of the most talented song writers ever. If you keep looking, you are going to find so much music that is so, so good and of a much higher quality than the junk you hear on your local radio stations. I am glad you posted this question. It's a rarity to find people who actually have good taste.

"Freewheelin" still in his acoustic folk, protest, social issues, civil rights song type period. then he move into electric guitar still fantastic music but it pissed off his folk song friends. but Bob is his own man does what he feels like a true artist looking for a new feeling. i saw Bob Dylan play at the Bitterend on Bleeker street NYC back in 1963. also Carnegie Hall. I'll never forget it. If you like the folk music also listen to
Pete Seeger

Blonde on Blonde. The lyrics are, of course, outstanding, but just as importantly, the musical performances are great on each song. He really has a rockin' band on this one. Really bluesy on some tracks. It's a great record to start to get familiar with Zimmy.
