Nope,

I have actually been to all those places recently and many many many more throughout europe....

Its not TRUE, of course many hate American Politics (especially foreign policy) and BUSH... but they don't hate you outright.

That said, they may have a stereotypical view of Americans just as you may have a stereotypical view of someone from Italy or Ireland.

I have been to over 15 countries in western and central europe and have rarely had a problem because of my citizenship or because I was an american.

They seem to separate individuals from the government.

Have fun, dont worry so much about them hating you because you are american...

Instead you should be more concerned of people trying to take advantage of you because you are a foreign traveler and maybe an easier target. (this is true anywhere in the world, not just europe).

Also remember that when you travel you arent in america, you are in a different culture. If you act appropriately and try to fit in, you will be fine.

Dont worry, I have been to all those places are pretty safe and you should be fine! I have not had any problems with anyone because I was american, and have met wonderful wonderful people in every country I visited.

Have a great fun trip!

No.

It is true, however, that many locals of whatever country do not appreciate rude tourists. Many Americans come across to Europeans as being rude when they have no idea that's what's happening. We Americans tend to speak more loudly in public than do people in several Europeans countries. Listen to the locals, then modulate your own speaking volume accordingly.

Be patient and don't expect everyone in France and Italy to speak English just because you don't speak French or Italian. Please try to appreciate that those who do speak English in these countries are working in a second (or third or fourth or...) language. Speak clearly and slowly, and be very careful not to sound like you think you're talking to an idiot. After all, they're the ones who speak several languages because you (i.e., most American tourists) won't learn them. Carry a phrasebook and try to use it.

Please try to remember that just because you're on vacation doesn't mean everyone else is. Most folks are having a normal working day. Please respect that and try to make their day a little nicer. Americans are raised with the idea that shopkeepers ought to be glad for their business. Most Europeans are raised with the idea that they should be grateful to the shopkeepers for providing goods and services. Watch for this.

Try to be polite in the same way the locals are being polite to one another. Then, regardless of nationality, they'll be much more welcoming.

The cities you are visiting I believe do not hate Americans. They tolerate us due to the fact we probably give them tourism. But I have heard that the french do no care for Americans much. I think most countries do not hate Americans, I feel they feel that we are arrogant and selfish. That is a very good question. It is good to know how a overall country feels about your presence their before you visit.

Yes, especially Paris. But I think you'll be OK with London.

The french hates us because they refuse to acknowledge the fact we payed them back for the Revolutionary war by liberating their country from Hitler in WW II. Remember, with out the support of the french gov in the late eighteenth century we could have never defeated King George's army. Deep down they probably believe all of North America should be french territory but all they could keep was Quebec.

Americans are not very well accepted in Europe, you may find people not very friendly. Mostly people are tired of the arrogance of american tourists and the idiocy of the american government.

Quit listening to the LIBERAL media. They want you to believe that crap. They are nothing but Gloom and Doom. They think they can get power back by making you think the world hates us, and with them in power, the world will love us. Most countries love America and Americans.

As long as you don't act like a typical American ignorant moron you'll be fine.
