And I'm scared to death. I'm into alternative, rock, punk, &country and everyone at my new school is (supposively)into Hip hop and stuff. And I'm in band w/ a huge tenor sax! How will I fit in or even survive?

don't worry about it and don't be quick to hang around any body monitor the people first then make you selection this will save you alot of trouble down the line

Well there probably will be people with your interests tucked away somewhere, in hiding from the hip-hop people. I had the same problem. Just make yourself known and those with your interests will come out of the dark and be your friend, okay?

Don't worry.

Despite what the majority at your new school might like, there WILL be others like you. And besides, you shouldn't let taste in music stop you from making friends. None of my friends have the exact same taste as me, but I mostly like 'em nonetheless. You'll find someone to hang with.

Be yourself. Lots of people, by the way, aren't into the music scene at all. People will be looking you over for other things than if you are a musician or not.
