Yes! There is! :) I've never tried it before, but I came across it in one of my herbal books.
Tooth Twig:
3-4 inch twig cut from a sweet gum or flowering dogwood tree (twig must be "just cut" from the tree).
Peel the twig and chew on the end until it is frayed and soft. It should taste slightly sweet. Now gently rub your teeth and gums. This is a very "old fashioned" way of brushing your teeth, but it's effective. The twig can also be dipped in water and baking soda if you desire.

I don't really know of anything else besides that for brushing your teeth, but I do use baking soda on my tooth brush instead of toothpaste sometimes. I also add a drop of tea tree oil which is very good for keeping your mouth healthy.

Hope this helps...have fun!

Before there were toothbrushes people would use a small stick, usually from a Sassafras tree, and mash the end 'til it resembles a brush of sorts. You can use a round toothpick this way too.

Nothing that'll do a better job than your toothbrush but you can try one of those Oral-B Brush Up things you slip on your finger.

I know people who have in a pinch used their hair as dental floss and then chewed a lot of gum, clean tasting anyways. I don't think that ethod sounds appealing though but you asked for a different way.

You can always just use mouthwash... like if you're on a camping trip or something. Slaves in the old days used to use a stick shaved down with baking soda on it.

You could try a water pick, but you're really supposed to use that with brushing.

You can eat an apple. The firmness of it scrapes the gunk off your teeth and it actually freshens your breath a bit.
