If it happens in the morning a lot ( it did to me ) , 1st thing to do is get up and wash it immediately . Use something that zaps your zits like rubbing alcohol , but only on the zits themselves not your whole face .Becuz the alcohol will dry it too much and cause it to become worse. Use a mildly abrasive cleanser , something with little micro-beads to clean off the dead skin that can clog up pores.
Once per week use an oatmeal or clay mask to absorb the oil.

If they still make Phisoderm (sp?) give that a try. Best stuff in the world for controlling oil. If not, find a good oil-controlling cleanser. Then find an oil-controlling moisturizer and use with Clearasil. Put Clearasil on the breakouts, then put oil-controlling moisturizer on all over your face. Even if you are acne-prone, always use a moisturizer. Keeps the wrinkles at bay when you get older.

depending on your age if you are a teen then oily skin is normal because of the changes your body is going through. I would suggest using rubbing alcohol to dry your face out apply it with a cotton ball since most of these so called clean and clear face washes are basically just that alcohohl.
sources: my husband and I both use this remedy and it works for us.

Go to a dermatologist. They can give you face medicines. Don't wash your face too much because then you will produce more oil than before. Get Clean and Clear Morning Burst. There are small beads that are vitamins and hydrate your skin.

If you have oily skin you never want to use harsh chemicals on your face. I have done much research and I too have oily skin. Alcohol burns your face, the tingle does not mean it is working. That is your skins reaction to alcohol, its like a defense mechanism. It overreacts and produces more oil to compensate for the overdrying. Thus making more oil. I suggest using Cetafil cleanser. And I also use clearasil tinted to conceal.

Try a face wash that helps oily skin and gets rid of acne. I use clean & clear for my acne sometimes. Try something with both.

Use astringent. And if you use make up, only use powder. If you have acne, even if it looks better, discontinue using it. It makes it worse. Put antibacterial ointment on before you go to bed at night,
Or just start using Proactive. It's expensive, but trust me, it's a miracle cure.
