Help! My dad has a home business in automobile speaker reapir and my nefew was here yesterday and thought it was cool looking to touch a speaker magnet to my computer moniter, now the color is messed up, i tried degauss and it worked somewhat there are still large blots of puple that wont go away! HELP!!!!

I agree... the monitor will probably never be the same... make the nephew fork out the $$ to buy a new one and I bet he won't do it again... but get a flat panel.. magnets dont have the same effect on them, plus they are easier on the eyes

sorry to say, with that powerful of a magnet your screen is probably permanently dmaged. You can give it some more time and try to deguass every so often, but it'll probably never get back to where it was.

You know that 19" flat panel you have been drooling over? Time to buy it. Magnets destroy monitors. No fix to the old one.
