I do a little everyday, dishes, laundry, vacuuming. Then once a month do a super cleaning that takes all day. It helps me feel like I accomplish something all the time.

Cleaning can be a pain in the butt, but if you clean up after yourself every day and then some, you'll find you don't have that much to do on your day off! For instance, when I'm done doing the dishes, I wipe out the sink. That way, at the end of the week, I don't have water stains that have to be cleaned off of the sink. I know, silly example, but the same goes with the shower: When you're done showering, rinse the tub. This way, you won't have to scrub your shower as much, if at all! Cleaning up after yourself on a daily basis can help so much in the long run.

You are going to get this a lot, but "clean as you go." If you use a dish, either wash it, or put it in the diswasher right away. When you get up, make your bed immediatly. Wipe down the surface of your sink with your washcloth (after you wash your face) before bed, then throw the cloth in your hamper. When the hamper is full, take the time to run the wash, so it doesn't get away from you. Try to set aside Saturday morning to do the cleaning that you only do once a week, scrub the toilet, scour the tub. If you stay up with it instead of thinking "I'll get back to it" you should be able to keep your place neat.

Try keeping up with your chores daily, like example; when you get home from school or work, hang up your clothes or out into washer and wash, when you eat - do dishes then not later, also you might want to set say Modays for sweeping, Tuesdays for mopping, etc... These things have worked for me or try doing all on a Saturday.

Put things back where you keep them when you're done using them. And if you can, try to get 2 caddies of cleaning stuff: 1 for the bathroom and 1 for the kitchen.
Good luck!

On your next day off clean apt. Then, everyday pick up after yourself. Put things back where they belong.
On your next day off you won't have so much to do. Should not take over an hour to clean apt. and do laundry.
If you pick up after yourself, you will notice a big change.
