Wow, lots of questions within a question, eh, Moon? ;) Okay, here goes...
I select the films I watch based upon years of cinematic study and experience. I take into account everything from the genre to the director to the screenwriter to the plot to the actors and, last but not least, the prevailing reviews from those I respect.
My favourite genres (I assume that's what you meant by "styles") are drama and comedy from almost every period of cinematic history. I'm more concerned with quality, however, than anything else. As for directors, there are many whose work I respect and admire (and many more I view as complete no-talents). Some of my personal favourites, listed alphabetically, include: Robert Altman, Ingmar Bergman, Frank Capra, Jack Clayton, Joel & Ethan Coen, Francis Ford Coppola, John Frankenheimer, Terry Gilliam, Howard Hawks, Alfred Hitchcock, John Huston, Stanley Kubrick, Akira Kurosawa, David Lean, Mike Leigh, Michael Mann, Michael Powell & Emeric Pressburger, Martin Ritt, Martin Scorsese, Ridley Scott, Steven Spielberg, Andrei Tarkovsky, Peter Weir, Orson Welles, William Wyler and Fred Zinnemann. (I feel sure I'm leaving out several greats but you get the idea.)
Some of my favourite films, again listed alphabetically, are: Blade Runner, Brazil, Brief Encounter, A Canterbury Tale, Casablanca, Citizen Kane, The Constant Gardener, Dead of Night, Dr. Strangelove, Excalibur, Gandhi, The Holly and the Ivy, Hombre, The Innocents, The Insider, Last Holiday, Local Hero, Lonely Are the Brave, Lost in Translation, The Man in the White Suit, The Manchurian Candidate (the 1962 original), Manhunter, A Matter of Life and Death, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Munich, North by Northwest, Notorious, Office Space, Out of the Past, Patterns, The Queen of Spades, Roman Holiday, The Rutles, Scrooge (1951 version, aka A Christmas Carol), Shichinin no Samurai, Shadowlands, Det Sjunde Inseglet, Smultronstället, Solyaris, Strangers on a Train, The Third Man, This is Spinal Tap, To Sir with Love, Waiting for Guffman, Watership Down, What's Eating Gilbert Grape and The Wizard of Oz. (Again, I'm leaving out a ton but you get the idea.)
I very definitely go back to the films I really enjoy and watch them again (and again). I own many on the list above in either DVD or VHS format and will watch the Christmas movies and specials each holiday season (I'm quite sentimental that way)... Unless I truly despise a film (Clerks and C'est arrivé près de chez vous spring immediately to mind) I ALWAYS stay for the entire movie, even remaining seated for the credits (most of the time)...
I definitely prefer watching films at home, if not just to avoid all the annoyances and distractions, but certain movies simply must be seen on the big screen (at least for the first viewing) so I always make the effort to go to the cinema for those. Highly visual films like The Lord of the Rings trilogy or the two Star Wars trilogies, for example, were first seen at the theatre and subsequently rented on DVD, in every instance... I'll watch a movie any day of the week if I have the time and inclination -- but I NEVER go to see a major release on its opening weekend as the cinema resembles nothing so much as a zoo on such occasions. No thanks!
Some movies I actually prefer to watch alone but most are better experienced with others. At the very least, if I do see a film alone, I like to have at least one friend see it, as well, so I can have someone to talk about the film with. It's never any fun to be the only person you know who has seen a particular movie, though this frequently happens to me when I see some obscure foreign film (and I do adore my obscure foreign films). And yes, Moon, the nature of a film does play a part in whether or not I'd rather view it alone or with a crowd. Comedies work best with lots of people around. Serious dramas are often better watched alone.
I almost never eat or drink during a movie if I've never seen it before as such things only distract -- and detract -- from the cinematic experience (this is one of my pet peeves about going to the cinema, where people invariably feel the need to stuff their faces during films). If I'm relaxing at home with a nice, familiar "comfort film" that I've seen several times before, sure, I don't mind having a snack or a drink. When I do elect to eat or drink anything, it's usually something small and simple to eat.
What else can I tell you, Moon? Methinks I've told you plenty -- perhaps too much, lol... Thank you for the very nice question (series of questions) about a topic I thoroughly enjoy. Cheers! :)

It's odd - I never heard the term "9/11-Gate," and yet, there should have been. If 9/11 had happened on Obama's watch, I doubt there would have been a reactionary bombing campaign of the wrong country (Iraq) ; there would have been a complete focus on impeaching the president instead.

It is near impossible to watch movies online for free or at least is safe and virus free as there are server costs and such that need to be paid and they have to make money somehow to pay them. Allot of the free sites do so nefariously to pay them.
If your looking for a safe reliable site to watch movies online try http://www.checkthisvid.com as my family has been using them for years to watch/download movies online. They have all the latest movies with no advertising and no buffering on their streaming movies and they even have direct downloads, not torrents. It is absolutely the only site in this category that I trust my kids to use safely.
If your trying to watch movies on your Ipad try http://www.checkthisvid.com because you can watch the original high resolution AVI, the site works with any device and since you can direct download your movies, there is no need for a proxy.
I've been burned way too many times and found myself with Spyware or a virus on my computer after using many of the free sites to watch free movies online. Its not so free when you have to put hours and hours into removing the crap I got from them. If you are looking for a website that is safe and reliable give them a try.

So many questions! Okay, here goes...
1. HOW I CHOOSE: I try to find the wackiest, most original movies around.
2. FAV DIRECTORS AND STYLES: I do have several favorite directors (Don Coscarelli, Lloyd Kaufman, Al Adamson, Mel Brooks) and styles (horror and comedy), but I am ALWAYS up to try something new. Variety is the spice of life, right?
3. FAV MOVIE(S): Geez... I have lots of them. "Kung Pow!", "Mel Brooks' History of the World: Part 1", "Terror Firmer", "The Toxic Avenger", "Blood of Ghastly Horror", "Lawrence of Arabia", "Duck Soup", and a lot more that aren't coming to mind right now.
4. REWATCH?: Yes, I do. Nothin' better than revisiting an old classic!
5. WHOLE MOVIE?: No matter how horrible it is, I always finish the movie. I feel that if it were to pick up toward the end, I would be missing out if I stopped prematurely.
6. CINEMA OR HOME?: Cinema, definitely. There's just some kind of magic about the silver screen that you can't quite replicate at home.
7. WEEKEND, WEEK?: I try to watch during the week as well as on the weekend. During the week, though, I usually don't go to the cinema. Home is much more convenient. :)
8. ALONE OR COMPANY?: It does depend on the kind of movie. I usually prefer watching horror by my lonesome, but most other styles (especially comedies) are more fun with a group.
9. FOOD AND DRINK: I rarely eat or drink at the movies because it's so darn EXPENSIVE! At home, I like popcorn with milk or juice.
10. OTHER: My favorite movies are often "cult classics", great movies that (for one reason or another) were never widely seen or not appreciated by the mainstream. There's just something gratifying about having seen lots of movies that almost nobody else knows exist. Maybe it's a nerd thing, LOL.
Anyway, that was quite a lenghty question (or set of them), but they were good questions. Toodles, and see you at the movies!

Ok, so was that a question or an inquiry by some Police officer to a prisoner in a third-degree torture cell? (Just kidding)
Here are ALL the answers-
Favourite styles: The ones with Jim Carrey, Johnny Depp in them. "Entertainment guaranteed" type of films.
I try different things but, mostly I am into comedy and superhero stuff.
I cannot sit through a movie. I only do so if I have to! While watching a rented movie, I often pause it and do other stuff in the meantime. Currently, I have "X-Men- The Last Stand" paused!!!
I NEVER watch the same movie twice! Why would anyone do that? You already know what's gonna happen next!!
At home. I rent them. I go to the theater only when someone drags me there.
I watch them all the time! Don't watch TV though.
Yea, I watch them alone.. I don't like it when people laugh at funny lines and get scared by scary scenes. I like it calm and peaceful with pin-drop silence. But, yea... sometimes have to I watch them with friends when it's their VCD...
I don't eat anything.... the crunching noise of chips is annoying but, I don't mind ice-cream and cold-drinks during the breaks.
What else can I tell you? Umm that Mystique was rescued by Magneto and I am dying to watch what happens next. So, see you later!!!

Okay - hope I can get this all in! Whew! I love to go to the cinema & with friends or my children. We get popcorn & soda when we go or I hit the dollar store for movie candy & hide it in my purse cos the stuff at the theater is SO expensive!! lol
I love & adore movies - will watch them any time. If Moonstruck comes on TV, even tho I've seen it time & again, I will find myself sitting down to watch, no matter where I come in on it!
I prefer comedies, chick flicks, mild horror - will go to see certain films on the directors rep/name - but will try anything new if the preview appeals to me. I've never walked out on a film at the theater but if I get bored at home will change channels. When we watch movies at home we'll snack on chips or have supper while watching. When I'm in the theater, I always sit up top, in the last row, right in the middle! Best view in the house! I talk during films, not about junk, but about what's going on in the movie. My daughter & son are used to this & talk to me, too - but we are considerate & don't bother others. At least I hope we don't. We usually go every Tuesday night & the theater is empty! Sometimes we'll be the only people watching the movie - it's great! I hope this is everything - thanks for asking & why don't you tell me what you like at the cinema?!

Hi Moon!
Okay, you asked a ton of questions, but I shall try to answer them all, lol. Wish me luck.... ;)
I LOVE movies that make me laugh!! I also love movies that make me cry, make a statement, or movies that touch me deeply. I love sappy, love stories, and chick flicks as well. I do like trying different things, yes. I've actually found myself watching movies that my husband is interested in, such as historical and war related movies, and have really enjoyed many of them! I do prefer movies about actual events though.
Some of my favorite movies are:
Pride & Prejudice
Shawshank Redemption
Backstreet (old movie, but one of my favorites)
Somewhere In Time
Shakespeare In Love
Schindler's List
Bridget Jones' Diary
Band Of Brothers (not really a movie, but I LOVED it!)
It's not very often that I will watch a movie more than once, but I have occasionally.
Yes, I usually watch the entire movie, unless I just can't take it anymore. There have been a few exceptions to that, lol.
I love going to the cinema to watch a good movie, but am just as happy watching them in my own, or someone else's home.
I watch movies during the week, as well as on the weekends. It really depends on how much down time I have, what else I have going on, and what else is on TV.
Well, I usually watch movies with my husband, but I've actually gone to the cinema alone to watch a movie that I knew he wouldn't be interested in seeing. I also watch movies at home, alone, if he is interested in watching something else (sporting event, etc). I do enjoy watching the St. Louis Cardinals on TV though, lol. We have more than one TV, so I can just go to another room to watch a movie. :)
Most of the time, I will eat popcorn while watching a movie, but not always. I don't have to be eating at all, but usually have something to drink, preferably water or tea.
I can't really think of anything else to tell you about my movie life. I do think that watching movies is a great way to escape for a bit, laugh, cry, and even learn. I love movies really, and have lately been enjoying watching old movies on TV. I love seeing the people, the architecture, the dress, mannerisms, homes, etc, from these movies! :)
You're quite welcome, Moon! :)

If I'm at home, I turn to the tv guide channel and see what's on. If it's friday, I look on the net to see what's playing in the theaters.
I like horror movies, comedy, action. I like Mel Gibson, Spilberg, and Stephen King. I like to try diff. things. I love Passions of the Christ.
Yes, I rewatch movies.
I normally watch the whole movie.
I like to stay home, but if it's with my boyfriend, he likes to show me off, so then I like to dress up to be seen with him.
Weekends (that's when I see everyone the most).
If it's a scary movie, I want people around, but if it's anything else...I prefere to be alone.
I eat popcorn, nachos, chips, and I drink fruit punch, or a slushie when I watch movies.
Some movies are much better when you got others watching it with you. Or, if you watch it alone...you can actually hear it!

I like many different movies. I like action, horror, humor, and suspense movies. Mostly if they are really good, I will buy the DVD when it comes out as I like to watch them over and over. I usually like to go to the movies, but if I wasn't able to see the movie at the theatre, I will wait till the DVD comes out and rent it. I usually have a little popcorn and a soda while watching a movie. I guess I can tell you my top ten favorite movies of all time. Mummy, The Mummy Returns, The Scorpion King, Platoon, The Wizard of Oz, Garfield movie, The Rundown, Cleopatra, Under Seige, and any Bruce Lee movies.
