We were called lazy because we were expected to continue working 24/7 like animals or machines. And just because things weren't done within the time span that the masters wanted, they said things that were untrue out of anger.

As with all races, there are those who are lazy and those who aren't. In the US, drive, ambition and work are more a factor or success than skin color.

So, to answer your question, per capita, as a race, which race has more people in prison, on street corners selling drugs, collecting welfare and being involved in gangs? That should show you where the laziness falls.

I think they were called lazy during slavery times because they resisted doing what was demanded of them, until they were coerced.

Black people were probably called lazy because they were a strong set of people and they were rebellious. They are really not lazy, I think it's the total opposite. They helped to build America, and still continue to do so. Look at Oprah, Michael Jordan, Bill Cosby, just to name a few!

Back then they were called lazy just to get them to work harder I'm sure. Obviously they weren't if they were slaving away all day. But nowadays I'm not so sure. I do NOT want to stereotype, but al ot of the black people that I know personally feel like they shouldn't have to do anything because of how their ancestors were treated.

Oh my lord. Of course, black people aren't lazy. They were called lazy because white people were jerks and just wanted black people to think poorly of themselves. I'm sure they thought if they called them lazy they might try to work even harder. But I think it was mostly a form of mental abuse.

They were put down in many ways as second class citizens but it's a myth to believe all Blacks are lazy.

Lazy people come in all colors. It figures that a white slave owner would call his slaves lazy. So he could feel better about his sins and inadequacies.

No.

Generalizations.

Just like any other race, blacks have some movers and shakers, and some that, well, just sit there.

Blacks in general are not lazy.
