Why do Hispanic men stare all the time? Please don't get me wrong or misinterpret my question; I'm not at all racist, I'm just curious, because it's something that I can't help but notice. It happens to me on a daily basis, so I'm really not just being rude. I honestly think THEY'RE being rude. I hate being oogled every time I get in my car, go out to eat, go shopping ... even when I'm with my husband and holding his hand. I was just curious if there are any other women out there who experience the same thing.

well i appreciate everyones answers. i guess i should take it as a compliment or something, but somehow i can't see straight to feel complimented by men whistling and cat calling as though i'm on display for their visual pleasure.

also, i'm actually NOT EVER receiving glances or even stares from white, black, or asian men, so it's not like i'm just leaving them out. i DO occasionally get stares from Middle Eastern men ... and even MORE RARELY the stare from a black man, but not one i would ever be attracted to.

btw, i'm married, so any overture is unwanting in that regard. basically, it's just tactless.

thanks for all the comments and perspective. =)

There is no part of the Hispanic culture that makes this OK.

You may be experiencing genuinely rude behavior, something many men do to women. For some reason, you may be just sensitive to Hispanic men doing this.

Similar to the apparent phenomena of Asian people's driving skils. People get cut off on the road all the time, but when an Asian person does it, some of us tend to take note of it and remember that it was an Asian driver. The other drivers who do it are soon forgotton.

This may be what is happening to you. You have no more to fear from rude Hispanic men than you do from other rude men.

To tell you the truth it's annoying when Latino, White, Black, and Middle Eastern men stare. All races do it. Some people take it as a compliment while others, like myself, would prefer confrontation.

I wish I knew the answer and yes I experience the same thing. Maybe it's cause we are beautiful and they don't get enough at home. LOL Really though it is rude and annoying and I totally agree with you. It is embarassing and it is okay to find a woman attractive but have a little respect for us will ya? Feel your pain.

I have no idea...but what I do know is that all this staring, crotch grabbing, etc...just doesn't get it, and as far as I have seen, has not resulted in a pickup..you would think that somewhere, somehow, sometime, they would decide to try something new that might work...but doesn't seem to happen. I believe that is the definition of "crazy," To do the same thing again and again, expecting different results.

Yes, that is pretty rude. But I'm afraid I can't offer you much of a solution because hispanic men are all around these days.

Only solution might be to appear less good looking, but I admit it would be a pity. Best way seems to ignore them...

Not a satisfactory solution, sorry.

Geez, I wish the opposite sex took notice of me like that.

Could be what you're wearing - I'll take a peek if a beautiful woman has put her goods on public view by wearing a low-cut top or other flattering clothes. It doesn't mean I want to jump on you or start humping your leg like a dog - it's just part of being a man.

Someday, when it's not happening, you'll be thinking fondly of these days.

Yes I experience the same thing. BUT NOT from only hispanics.
White guys, asian guys, etc.
Maybe you just notice "hispanics" staring more, becuase you're uncomfortable with it. I'm sure you make NO objection to hot white guys staring.

Let me tell you something missy, i live in california and a lot of hispanics live here, but most are nice, and a few are rude. It is not the culture or race, it is the gender, men stare or look at women, simple as that.

I'm hispanic and I notice it. It's like they don't realize how obvious they are being. Maybe they do and that's how they get their women, who knows. It obviously works for them. I just stare back. Usually that's as far as it goes.

I don't know why, but it ALWAYS happens to me too, even while pushing my daughter in her stroller or playing at the park. I also find it very rude. I should just start making silly faces back or start walking really weird or something.
