Apple technology is superior. So, if you're looking for the best, get an iPod. You do need iTunes to load songs onto the iPod but iTunes is available to download free so that isn't a pobem. I have had a iPod for over one year and have had no problems whatsoever. Everyone says that the Nano's screen scratches easily or the screen cracks. Hey, it is a piece of technology and if you don't look after it, it will get damaged just like any other piece of electronic equipment. The Nano has no moving parts which means you will have uninterrupted listening (no skipping if you bump it).

Remember, you get what you pay for so don't settle for something cheap because it will be rubbish. If you want the best, Apple is the way to go.

Yes you need iTunes to load songs [it's really easy]. Moreover, you need not worry about your wma files, iTunes will automatically convert these for you.
My iPod is over one year old, I use it heavily [everywhere and everyday] - I also dropped it twice, but it's still working like a charm.
