It's not the guns, it's the little pieces of lead comming out. The gun just makes the little pieces of lead move very very fast.

And I'm all in favor of gun control. If you don't shoot what you're aiming for, then you need to goto the range and learn some more gun control.

Guns don't kill people, Chuck Norris kills people.

The lack of personal responsibility and the quickness to blame is becoming an infection within our society.

My kid isn't dumb. You're a bad teacher.
I don't have to work for what I want. You're supposed to give it to me.

I will never understand people who make a continuous string of bad decisions and then can't figure out how they got such bad results (like eating double cheeseburgers and then thinking McD's made them fat, to keep it on topic).

I do, but I am sure you can find some one somewhere who did everything right and some kid still got shot. I am on your side, but people who lose thier kids have learned to make a really big fuss about it.

If guns are illegal, motorcycles, bikes and contact sports should be outlawed too. Me and you owning guns us what will keep anyone from ever invading US soil.

i agree, however it has been proven much much much easier to kill someone with a gun due to the quick and destructive nature of the tool. killing someone by bludgeoning them over the head with a monkey wrench requires alot more thought and participation. guns dont cause the murders but in many cases they make them physically possible otherwise they wouldn't have happened. it's alot different thinking about stabbing someone multiple times, or pressing a button and having someone die, it's definately much easier for some people to make a quick mistake with a gun if not just because they know that shooting someone is the quickest method of ending trouble, you dont want to be struggling to take someone down for a matter of minutes, leaving yourself in danger of being takin out in the process.

Right! I agree. Still, how do we get people to stop using guns (horrible invention), stop driving drunk (eejits) stop religious fanatics from blowing themselves up (don't get me started) and stop people from overeating (close McD)?
Put them all together in the same pit and let them go for it?
Lock up all the guns, take away all the keys, abolish all religions and close McD?
Unending!

Cars are designed for transportation.
Religion is a social tool.
Spoons are designed for transporting food to the mouth.

None of these things is designed solely to end lives.

A gun on the other hand, is designed for that purpose, and that purpose alone. Guns are made to kill. Period. That is not a side effect, that is by design.
