A nasty beauty enemy, but here's a remedy:

Combine 1/4 cup boiling water with one teaspoon of Epsom salt and three drops of iodine.
Let mixture cool until it's comfortable to the touch.

Saturate a cotton ball with this mixture and dab on blackheads.
This will allow them to loosen so they can be easily squeezed with a gauze pad.

Good luck!!

Whatever you use that silly blackhead tool, that metal one with the tiny hole on the ends does not work. First you need a facial steamer or a pan full of boiling water, careful not to burn yourself, to open your pores. If using a pan drape a towel over your head and get your face steamy w/out burning it. Then you can pat it dry while still warm and use a liquid mask that dries hard or those pore strips, no picking. Then since you will have some residue on your face wash you face in warm steamy water again but with a natural apricot scrub, or a gentle scrub. Then rinse well in cool water, not only does that close your pores and make them tighter but it is good for your circulation. I would do this 1x a day like before you go to sleep or everyother day so you so not start peeling from drying out your skin.
The rest of the time about 2 or 3 x a day I would wash with a cleanser and warm water then rinse in cool. You do not need to use strong acne products because it is not acne, however keeping it clean and not oily is the key. I suggest getting a facial. Yes it will be a bit expensive, but you are essentially 'deep cleaning' your skin, and the esthetician will remove blackheads for you. Your skin will look red after (and do NOT wear makeup for 24 hours afterwards) but it will 'exercise' your skin. If getting a facial is not an option, you might want to steam your face and use one of those biore pore strips. You can find them at Target/Walmart/any drugstore. Use a mask beforehand as well. I wish you luck! :) Blackheads are no fun, but facials are - take a girlfriend with you!

I make a brown sugar scrub and use it once a week.
It really helps.
What you do is just add two spoonfulls of brown sugar and some water.
Then you scrub it on your nose and wherever the blackheads are.
It really helps me. It cleans out the dirt in the pores.

Wash your face with a good facial cleanser (I use Burt's Bees Garden Tomato Complexion Soap), then apply a mask. Queen Helene Mint Julep is a good one. You might also try scrubbing your face a couple times a week with a paste of baking soda. Use 1 part water to 3 parts baking soda, and just lightly rub onto your face after washing, rinse with warm water, and finish with a few splashes of cold water to close the pores.

Biore Pore Perfect strips. I swear by them. Also, you can make an exfoliating scrub with just salt and lemon juice which at least lightens blackheads so you can't see them as much.

Hey.My husband bought me Neutrogena advanced solutions(at home micro Dermabrasion system for face(shh I also use it for other parts of the body too). He bought it at walmart. Keep the box and recipe if it doesn't work for you or if your skin reacts to it I believe 30 days.
It is about $30.00. I use it and I use it for my husband too. It enhances surface cell turnover for visibly fresher , smoother , baby soft skin.
