Yes, i know i know there has been tons of belly button piercings postings, but none that answer the specific question that I have lol :P
After you get it pierced, and it has fully healed and everything, can you take it out for long periods of time? Say a week, and is there a visible scar on your naval when its out?? THanks

You can take it out but once removed the hole will only stay open for 3-5 days. After that it will begin to close and it will be harder to get back in. Once it is totally removed and healed there will be a little spot where it used to be, but hardly noticeable.

Hi

If the piercing is FULLY healed, you should be able to take the jewelry out for a couple of days (I was in the hospital for about 5 days while my navel piercing was still healing and I managed to insert the jewelry back afterwards with no difficulty). Of course, this also depends on the specific person and their healing abilities.

I would try taking out the piercing for a short amount of time first, and then for longer periods of time (but remember to clean your navel and the jewelry well every time you do this).

In turns of scarring, firstly, if you took care of your piercing really well while it was healing, then there will only be a dot sized scar when you take your piercing out.

If you decide to let the hole close, than the small dot will fade and dissapear eventually (be patient).

Hope that helped!

I don't know if taking it out for a week is a good idea if you want to keep it. maybe you can try a clear ring or something. Yes you can have a scar from it. I have one, it's not bad but you can see it if you are close.
