4 July 2006...what a horrible day! Any one else agree?

Frenchman: I know how you feel, the tears that day wouldn't stop coming. Germany would have easily won had it gone to penalties, it was just really bad luck, and I agree, Schweinsteiger should have been a starter, he is brilliant striker, and if Frings had been there...it was an awful, awful day.

ekgjester: Thank you for bringing that up. I am not the only one then that saw how Germany should have been awarded a penalty kick in the 85th minute, but instead got a freekick, but when you play against Italy, it's never a fair game, is it?

In the last minute! I cried and cried! We were so close to destroying them in penalties! Why didn't Löw (Who really runs everything like tactics) start with Schweinsteiger and Borowski, not Borowski and Kehl! And we they truly didn't bring their A game, like with Sweden and Portugal, they brought their B game like with Argentina and it cost them these time, well we are going to win EURO 2008 and take home the World Cup in 2010.

Edit: Starlight, Italy was so cheap in getting Frings out of that game, He said he had been punched two times and he was putting his arms out to protect himself and Argentinian who was "punched" said he never was punched, and even FIFA said they were sorry about their own decision! But consider all the bad luck Italy got in the World Cup 2002, I guess they got good luck from acting and dirty play this time!

I am German but I don't necessarily root for Germany. I live in America so that would be the only country I would hope to win.

yes yes. of course. I HATE JULY 4TH, STUPID ITALY, YOU'VE RUINED MY JULY 4TH WEEKEND! I literally cried after the undeserved lost. We played beautiful games throughout the tournament, and all German fans should be proud of what they did. Esp. they've just received silver loral leaf as top honoary in sport history. Cong. to them!!! Germany will win EURO 2008 and WC 2010. We deserve the win.

I HAD THE TIME OF MY LIFE WATCHING THE GERMAN TEAM THIS PAST WORLD CUP! STARTING FROM THE VERY FIRST GAME I THOUGHT THAT THEIR TEAM WAS UNBELIEVABLE FUN TO WATCH. THEY NEVER HELD BACK, THEY PLAYED TO SCORE AND NOT TO TAKE A RESULT, AND THEY HAD SOME OF THE MOST AMAZING YOUNG TALENT I HAVE SEEN OUT THERE..

I LOVED THEIR COACH ALSO, CAUSE KLINSMAN WITH HIS ALMOST CHILDISH ENERGY AND PASSION MADE IT CONTAGEOUS FOR ALMOST EVERYONE WHO WASN'T COMPETING TO BE A SUPPORTER OF THAT TEAM!

I WAS VERY SAD WHEN THEY LOST -THAT WAS CRUEL- BUT NOT AS SAD AS THE MOMENT WHEN TREZEGUET MISSED THAT @#$%@%^ PENALTY
