Tell me why you started reading her books and why she is your favorite writer

Zane Grey is brilliant. His westerns are some of the best out there. ;)

When you say Zane, I'm assuming you mean one-word, african american, erotica, female author Zane.
I haven't started reading her though. I heard about her from some friends on the net about 3 years ago. They were addicted to Addicted (pun intended) and kept raving about her. Well, even though I'm not a fan of erotica, I thought I could overlook that. Wrong.
I have two problems with Zane. One I don't like erotica, which is certainly not Zane's fault and second, I don't think Zane is that great of a writer. I don't like to hate on people, but she isn't that good of a writer. I would rather people pick up Octavia Butler or Zora Neale Hurston or Toni Morrison or Alice Walker or Nalo Hopkinson, someone with an actual story and good writing. Two people (one a corporate lawyer/advertiser/sales clerk/add your own occupation and another sex addict/player/thug/hater/homely person) hooking up then either breaking up or getting married is just not cutting it. That's just me though.
