In some parts of the world (eg:Asia) snakes are being worshipped as goddess and in these places, whenever somebody dreams about snakes, they go to these temples on the next day and some rituals are performed by providing milk , conducting poojas etc.. Its said that they dream about snakes due to the dissatisfaction from the snake goddess.
But in modern medicine, theory says that if we
are apprehensive about something ..scared about something.....if we think about those apprehensions..in the hour just before sleep, we will have dreams about that subject especially when we are in semi sleep mood..
It depends on the way you look at it..
Though some people connect "love life" and
" snake dreams", its considered as only one of those postulates..

It all depends on the dream
It could mean sex, temptation
It could mean danger, troubles
It could mean tedious task
It could mean fear of something.
It depends on how you react in the dream too. If you like it, it could mean sex, if you are afraid of it because something, then it may mean danger...
