Prior to reading this question, I was trying to figure out why Fast food came below Canada and was I really in a category that was about Canadian fast food or was that how it fell in the alphabet under "Dining". When I read you question I was thinking about your capitalization or lack thereof. Then I was wondering if I smelled gas in a fast food restaurant if that would be from one of their cooking implements or if they are all electric. And, I believe the word "farts" came to mind in there somewhere.

yes. one can smell the gas becuase of the contaminants like sulphur compounds it has. For example cooking gas LPG( a mixture of propane and butane does not smell) but we in the oil and gas industry add a chemical to release smell so that a housewife or a less educated person can smell in case of gas leak.
i am chemical engineer.

well yes gas has a smell to it that you can tell I think it was added by the gas companies to help people detect its presence because natural gases don't have any smells. that's why back in the days of the coal miners they use to bring a small bird with them and if it died or pass out they knew there was gases and would leave asap.

Methane, ethane and propane, etc. Don't have a smell.
Sulphur additives are included because the human nose is so sensitive to them. So, if there is a gas leak, people will smell it and run.

Yes, my fiancee,is always farting.our apartment smells awful..I told to contact renuzit (ordor stopping spray maker) and see if he can make a new spray fragrance..Their sprays smell as bad as his farts..we might as well make money on them.....
Also, if i answered this Question yesterday, our neighborhood smelled like natural gas so..I called the gas company and they came out.

If you say so.I'll omit details of the other things that I'm thinking but propane and natural gas have things added to them so that you can detect them by smell.

If you mean natural gas the answer is no because they have to mix it with something to make it smell. If you mean a fart, I get as far away as possible.
