is there a software available where I could sing my lyrics into the computer, and the computer would write out the notes on staffs?

Almost any keyboard is MIDI capable.
You have to have a MIDI port on your computer. You can plug the keyboard into the MIDI port and whatever you play can be written onto a staff on your computer. Most all recording software will do this. I use Cakewalk, but there are many others out there.
I don't know of any that will allow you to sing and automatically print the notes on a staff.
As far as brands... pretty much any name brand will be just fine.
The less expensive ones would be Casio, or Yamaha. You can get into a pretty nice synth from either of those companies for around $300.

No software for that. A good brand of midi keyboards is M-Audio, Mackie, & Yamaha.
