My oscar seems to have foggy eyes, not just the pupils, but the whole of the eyes seem to have a foggy film over it.

The Oscar and the Dempsey had a case of fungus, which is being treated, they're in about day 6 or 7 of an 8 day treatment. The fungus has almost cleared up but now the Oscars eyes have fogged over.

What is this?

It's not a very old fish, only a few months. It's still under 5 inches.

I found a website of common fish diseases, one was called EYE CLOUD, it was described as a white film on eyes, eye injury caused by handling, fight, or bacterial disease. (Go here for more:http://aquafirnd.plantedtank.net/disease.html). I dont know the remedy, but your local petstore, or the internet could know. I assume there is some medication avalible at a petstore. GOOD LUCK:)

How big/old is your oscar? Sometimes as they get very large (10-14 inches), the eyes will look as though they are going blind. It occurs in some oscars, but they are not blind. I have not seen this in younger fish. Does it still see food when you feed them? If so, I would not worry. If he does go blind, you will probably have to isolate him in another tank so he can feed without other fish getting all the food.

that is going to likely be a fungal or bacterial an infection, many times brought about with the aid of undesirable water qaulity. Get some water assessments finished asap, in the interim do a touch tremendous partial water ameliorations and %. up some anti-fungal / anti-bacterial medicine. DONT take care of for Ich, thats a completely diverse parasite. the incorrect medicine will purely rigidity the ill fish even extra, and possibly kill it. So verify and astonishing your water parameters and take care of for fungus. good success Ian
