I'm in a bit of a bind. I've committed to directing a play for my communtiy theater group. I am also having some financial problems that will require me to move.

I suppose I could still direct the show, but I feel my wife will need my help to get things packed, organized, moved... ect.

I KNOW that I'm going to let a bunch of people down and feelings are going to be hurt if I quit. My wife is a very supportive and would allow me to direct the play if I finally choose to do that.

The question is should I stick with what I promised to do, or should I drop it and be there for my wife and family?

That's a tough one but I think you should be there for your family, because there is only one you and the play people can always get a director. And explain to them the situation. But if you don't want to drop it then try and juggle between them.

Um, why don't you start by explaining your situation to the theatre group? You may end up being pleasantly surprised with the amount of support you receive from them - someone else may be able to take over, or know someone else who might.

I'm not a big fan of offering solutions to problems when a little more poking at the situation may reveal that there *is* no problem. =)

Family comes first. They can get someone else to direct. Your wife has only one husband.
