I like the point about really wanting an answer but I often ask about something which involves opinions to learn what people are thinking about a topic
Like a survey
It may change my mind but usually not
it always gives me insight into what people are thinking.
But since we are complex beings, one can do things out of both curiosity and the desire to get attention or even show off or even really the need to know.

Woo that thing about watching TV really hit home!!
the problem is that I have bought some new DVDs and can't settle myself down to see them, even the ones about learning drumming techniques.
It is really weird: I can't sit through a half-hour program any more. I would rather do sports, listen to music or read in that order.

I can totally relate to being love starved. I do the same thing. People always call me a smart-a*s... I tell them it's better than being a dumb-a*s.

you are so not the only one. However I just recently found out that it costs you 5 points to post questions and I dont want to be stuck at level 1 forever.
