Alright I posted my concerns at another forum asking for a quick solution to a quick weight loss. But I will recap so if you have anything else that might work.

My situation is I realize this is not going to be a permenant fix, I am just looking for something that can make me look and feel better for this weekend event that I am going to. I have started to cut back on my eating "bad food" and working out. I just need that extra boost, for this weekend. I sound like a teenager but I wanna impress this guy! :-)

Well a poster said something about chinese oolong tea, that she lost 6 pounds in 5 days, so I am wondering does this work? Is that all that I need to take for the 5 days or what?

Also I am also wanting other thoughts to other methods that could possibly work.

Please nothing rude, because like I said I realize this is not a permenant fix just something to help me feel and look better for the weekend.

i have also seen something about the chinese tea stuff....and my friend tried it and she said it worked great for her. i would try it myself, but i don't know where i could order/buy it. other than that, just make sure you drink TONS of water...eat lots of fruits and veggies....try skipping supper everyday -- but always eat breakfast ... cereal is good... :) ... and keep working out. and i'm not sure how this helped me, but last night about 10 minutes before i went to bed, i drank a bottle of water, and i dropped 3 pounds since yesterday....oh -- and make sure you get at least 8 hours of sleep every night. i hope this helped you some....and GOOD LUCK!!!

Tea is healthy, but don't use it for a diet. Chinese products can be dangerous. You never know for sure what is really in them. Do some vigorous exercises before this weekend. You really will feel better and look better too. And guess what? That guy you are going to be with is already impressed with you. Otherwise he would not have asked you out.

Caffeine is a diuretic - it makes you pee. So my guess would be that this person who drank all the tea peed out a lot of her water weight.

You might try green tea, though. It actually has been shown to increase your metabolism.

I should also add that, if you are looking for a short-term weight loss, all you really have to do is eat a lot less. Yeah, you'll be hungry. And you will gain the weight right back. But you can look good for one event by drastically reducing your calories for a few days. If that's what you want to do.

Yes that will work if you want KIDNEY STONES and a Nasty infection of your colon kidney bladder or something else down there. Tea is extremely hard on your body and most likely you will get very sick. I would try drinking WATER which is good for your body and excercise and so on! Just don't drink the tea. Seriously my nephrologist said that a guy drank tea and was from England and got horrible kidney stones from that.

tea is a natural diuretic, so the more you drink the more you pee. It also has the benefit of filling you up so you're less likely to overeat. As long as you're not drinking the fattening flavored teas - some of them have loads of calories - it doesn't make much difference what kind you drink. I've heard that the oolong tea is supposed to be slimming, but don't know if that's the tea itself or some additive.

I cant vouch for this 100% but I am told green tea helps in burning a lot of calories. Havent heard of the chinese tea you are talking about, but yeah heard of similar chinese pills for weight reduction.

I have no idea how tea can help you lose weight. But I know that tea does make you want to pee often. So, maybe it'll help you to lose your water weight only.
