Paper in plastic. It's the only way the groceries don't fall over in the car, yet they're still easy to bring into the house.

you mean kill trees or create landfill? I usually throw things in my courrier bag that has become an extra appendage.
For the big shopping experience I get plastic and reuse them to clean out the cat box.
