From a strict American perspective:

Being Israel is such a drain on the US economy, gives us nothing in return but more headaches to solve, is in constant fear of being over run.

Why shouldn't Israel just move? I feel if the US tax payer has to fund this project of an Israeli state then why not move to a better location where there would be less of this squabbling. I have no problem with helping but when does it end? The tax payer is burdened by this and Israel does not have to pay back the majority of the money we send. Not to mention the country is not self sufficient which to me is a failed project anyways.

I would prefer to hear from pro-Israeli people. So they can explain to me what the US gets from this relationship.

(sorry if the question is blunt, but its also fair, Israel recieves more aid than Africa and we know what condition that country is in.)

actually all Israel needs to do is GO BACK to the borders that were set for that nation in 1949. As long as they hold territory that belongs to Palestinians, Jordanians, Egyptians, Syrians etc. there will be problems as these people want their homes back.

The first response hit it right on the head.. If they stayed within their borders, honestly none of this would be news.. then the two guys above me.. are they the same person? Reported you ? for what.. It's a never ending pissing match on here even if you ask a reasonable question.. No opinion, no facts ..just hate banter ..
The news in the US reports on all things Israel as .."Israel" defending herself.. what they fail to mention is that they are outside their border, illegally ...and bulldozing someones house, or ripping up Olive trees that are 200 years old. This is a convoluted and unfortunate thing.. I don't know that there is an easy solution.

Actually, Israel is the site of numerous pharmaceutical manufacturers, such as Teva Pharmaceuticals. You see, drugs which are caught up in the FDA pipeline for years awaiting approval, can have their testing completed overseas much more quickly than in the US, while still maintaining cGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practices). This speeds the drugs to market, allowing consumers to gain access to life-saving medicines more quickly. As far as other funding is concerned, the Israelis also buy weapons from us, such as the F-16 fighter planes they used to bomb Lebanon. So they support our defense industry as well.

I feel that all of the Jews in Israel should move to New York City. It would help with peace in the Middle East and seeing that it would only cause a 2% increase in the Jewish population of NYC there would be little strain on the U.S..

The mistake of 1947 is undoable now.
If we "move" them, there'll just be Israeli terrorists instead of Islamic terrorists.

I wish there WERE a place to move them - that they'd accept.
But I doubt it'd solve our problems.

I would be more comfortable with everyone else around israel moving----preferably into the mediterranean.

israel isn't the one at fault here. all she's doing is defending herself.
