A similar question was asked a few minutes ago and I thought it was a valid question (though it was a tiny bit biased) and did not deserve deletion ... Now, I WONDER what manner of person would have reported it?

Of course, I do continue to believe what I believe. Very occasionally someone will write something that enables me to expand or enrich my beliefs or will make me understand that I am, perhaps, being bigoted myself.
I am asking "Why ...", though - in other words, what kind of person do you think does this?
My own view is that either they are not assured enough in their beliefs or they are TOO sure and don't see that there are many different views of the Truth - none of which is wholly wrong if it is honestly found.

The trouble with beliefs is everybody 'knows' that their religion or belief system is correct and everyone elses is wrong. That's the trouble, if you're staid in your beliefs, then obviously you will only believe what you believe is the right thing, and everyone else is wrong. I used to be of a certain religion (not any more) and whilst in that religion I KNEW I was right in believing what I believed, I felt like I had to 'save' everybody, but now I realise that it's not what religion you follow, but what's in your heart that matters most. I believe in the here and now, I'm not bothered about the everafter, I don't know if that exists. I get annoyed when other people tell me that my beliefs are wrong, I understand why people get angry if they are constantly told they are wrong to believe what they believe.

I think it's just another insult to throw at someone, some people just aren't happy unless they're complaining about something or someone.
I think all this 'my beliefs are better than yours' rubbish has gone on too long on yahoo answers. If anyone thinks they're going to change someones beliefs here then they're sadly mistaken, and I don't even see why they would want to.
Although I believe in God now, I didn't for a few years, however I never felt the need to criticise anyone who had different beliefs than me.

I believe it is because they are uncertain about their own beliefs, and or they lack the ability to committ to what they think they believe in. This insecurity about themselves may be the cause of the dirt throwing, used as kind of a smoke screen. For example some people must put others down in order to feel better about themselves.

The thing is why do people ask other to believe as they do it like forcing someone to take your faith, beside that I am cool with any religion ,but I know who and what I believe in ,if other do not I do not use this you going to Hell if you do not believe as I do ,because they do not understand or they think you crazy if they don't want to hear my words I turn and go away why force the items to upset them go and take your words to someone that will want to hear them

Unfortunately people have been doing this from the beginning of time, and they are not going to stop, until the end of time. If we all just respect each other we could live in peace, but I don't think that will happen, so I just do my part and give respect.

Not sure... maby they don't like the thought that a belief other then theirs could be wrong, so they attack what they don't understand to try to make theirs seem faultless? I don't know, just a guess.... and i really wish people would leave my faith alone.

Because they don't have enough problems of their own, don't know how to deal with their problems or live in a fantasy world that they know all the answers.
