So? Give it your all plus some then. If your brother has a problem with it, that just shows his retardedness for not being able to cope with his little sister competing with him. Maybe you'll both make the team. I'll put it this way...when I played roller hockey in college (recreational) we had a rule: What happens in the rink, stays in the rink. We had two brothers play against each other all the time and they hated each other during the game, but after wards was a different story. You two are going out for the SAME team. If anything, you two should be supporting each other. Get over the sibling rivalry and play the game like you would if you were competing against total strangers. Good luck to you both.

I dont think it really matters if your bro is trying out or not. A person whos got skill will get on the team; your brother cant assume that just cuz he played a little longer that he deserves to be on the team. He's gonna have to work on it too. In the same way, he shouldnt get mad if you make it and he does because you "took his spot." He shoulda tried harder.

I see your problem crystal clear. This happens a lot. I would say to keep on trying your hardest to make the team. I know it means a lot to you. Even if you make it, and your brother doesn't, its not like hes gonna leave you, you'll still have him for motivation, and he'll be right there for you, just what a brother is for, even though he won't be on the ice with you, he'll be in your heart (and the stands) cheering you on.
