I would rather read a question that is correctly written than one that is not. A misspelled word or phrase can completely throw the whole question off....as does EXCESSIVE punctuation.
Granted, English is not everyone's first language. However, most of the people who post on here, who were taught English as their primary language, cannot or will not use proper English, cannot or will not spell simple English words correctly, cannot and will not utilize their public or private education. It can be laziness, apathy, intellectual ineptitude, or cranial rectosis (head up the butt).
Quite honestly, aside from a select few people here and there, the best questions are often asked by people who utilize English as a second language.

If a person cannot even spell, then they certainly do not have any right to go on ranting about anything intelligent (i.e. politics), and I certainly don't have the time or inclination to discuss intelligent matters with them. Because theyre obviously STUPID and the opinions they are mindlessly blurting out have no relevence or validity.

Because for some people it is a pet peeve and for others they have nothing better to do. Either way, it really won't stop people from incorrect spelling.

The only issue that I have with the "spelling impaired" is that sometimes you have no idea what they are actually asking about. It makes it harder to help.

I'm not sure why they pick on people. I think if you can read it or know what the person is saying it's spelled just fine.
