If I were you, I'd stay away from Bare Minerals because their mineral makeup is NOT as "natural" and "pure" as they say it is. Bare Minerals contain Bismuth Oxychloride. Here are some facts about that ingredient:
Bismuth Oxychloride is an inorganic compound made from combining bismuth with salt.
Bismuth is the by-product of lead and copper refining, as well as other metals to a smaller degree. Bismuth occurs very rarely in nature. It is very heavy and chemically resembles arsenic and antimony. Companies use this in their cosmetics because it is cheap to buy and is an inexpensive filler. Its molecular makeup is a crystalline shape, which may be a cause of the itchiness some women get when they wear it. Many women experience noticeable itching when they sweat. Don't forget it is also kin to arsenic, chemically. Your body will reject things it does not like, and if you'll get sick from ingesting arsenic, it would make sense that your skin would get irritated from having arsenic forced into it.
I was considering Bare Minerals until I found out about that. I get my mineral make up from Cory Cosmetics(www.corycosmetics.com) because for one, it is the purest mineral makeup I've found (doesn't contain Bismuth Oxychloride) and she also has a Mica-free line as well (for those who have hyper-sensitive skin), and two, because she runs a very good business. Another good option would be Everyday Minerals (www.everydayminerals.com) because their products don't contain Bismuth Oxychloride either and their makeup is on the cheaper side pricewise.
I do not recommend Bare Minerals if you care about what you put on your skin.

I have been using it for a couple of months now, and I really like it. I've never really been one to wear makeup, just like a little powder or blush occasionally. But I got married in May so wanted to look really good, and I had heard a lot of good things about it so decided to bite the bullet and spend the $60 to get it. It goes on really fast and it really does even up the skin tone and cover up spots. And it doesn't feel like you are plastered in makeup. I don't wear it everyday however, because when I was wearing it everyday I noticed that my chin was getting really dry and flaky. Now I'm not sure exactly if it was from just the makeup or if it was a combination of that and the other skin products I was using. So, it's not perfect, but it is pretty neat stuff and all in all I'm really happy with it. It does last a long time too (depending on how often you use it), because it requires such minimal amounts to cover your face. I purchased mine at Sephora. I don't know if you have a Sephora near you at all, but it was nice because they had samples of the makeup there that you could look at and try. I didn't have my face made up, but I did have them figure out what color was best for me which was very helpful.

i'm a makeup artist and the place I artwork we've an entire bare minerals counter and that's each and each piece as spectacular as you hear that's. It does not clog your pores, it has super assurance, you do no longer sense such as you're donning it, etc etc. in case you employ it top it would final an quite long term. Alot of retailers like Ulta and Sephora sell starter packs that are approximately 60 money and that they contain 2 foundations. 3 brushes, a epidermis primer, and a bronzer. I advise flipping your field over, unscrewing the marvelous, twirling your brush in what's contained in the lid, and tapping and then buffing in circles out of your outer face inwards. that's how bare minerals replaced into made to be positioned on initially. have confidence me you do no longer ought to do it that way yet you will get the main perfect assurance that way. and that's the way that it lasts the main. the only time you will make a multitude with that's in case you have a ton on marvelous of the video show and you swirl like a mad woman contained in the field and it is going in each and every single place. and that i've got not at all heard of nostril bleeds from bare minerals. as quickly as in an quite uncommon occasion human beings have a epidermis reaction or something yet you need to undergo in strategies each and every person is diverse and that i'm speaking some very uncommon occasion. I advise going into your nearest bare minerals, ulta or sephora and having a specialist coloration experience you (its unfastened) and coach you the way to place it on. have confidence me you wont remorseful approximately it.

No, I tried it and was really disappointed. ANY mineral makeup requires a certain skin type to look good...slightly oily with no dry patches. If you're too oily, it will eventually kind of pool in large pores (yuck!) and if you have any dry spots at all (i.e. healing blemishes) it's like putting them under a magnifying glass. And if you don't have oily skin, the powder tends to suck moisture out.
Also, it's very shiny/sparkly due to having a lot of mica in it. It also doesn't blend very well and it's messy. I tried it in a Sephora store, and there were people getting "makeovers" with it...it did not look anywhere near natural. This is quite possibly the most overhyped makeup I have ever seen.
To get that "movie star" look, you're going to need a full-coverage, matte foundation. This is really too much for everyday...if you see movie stars up close, they do look very made-up. If you really need something like this, Lancome has a good mousse makeup that should do the trick. Maybelline's Dream Matte mousse is OK except it also tends to pool in large pores. For everyday, I would try the sheerest possible formulation that still gives the coverage you need.

I purchased Bare Minerals and it was such a waist of money. Whatever you do don't spend money on this product! Not only, still a year later, did it ruin my skin but even if you don't have sensitive skin it is still not worth it. It looks like cheap makeup from Walmart. The cleanser and the lotion, which I used for only a week because I noticed it was drying out my face like I've never seen before, is horrible and I still have patches of flaking on my skin that wont go away even though I've gotten facials to try to make it go away. This might not happen to every girl who uses the product, maybe I just have sensitive skin, however, I still wouldn't use the product. The powder is horrible, it doesn't blend in and no matter how long you spend trying to blend it in it you can always see the powder on the face, also the brushes that they give are really corse. Definitely not worth it. Another bad thing, they keep sending me more and they expect me to pay for it when I've canceled it a million times! Please don't purchase this product, trust me. The best product I've ever invested in is Proactive, again it might not work for everyone but for me it's perfect, I don't have acne but it makes my skin smoother and evens out the tone, its even clearing up that mess that Bare Mineral made, and its a lot cheaper, and they cancel when you ask them to.

Bare Minerals is a great product. You can go to Sephora.com to try the foundation, instead of enrolling in the club, which is on the infomercial, because you will keep receiving from them, and it's a pain to get out of it. Not only is the foundation available, but there's tons of eyeshadows and blushes, and concealers, which are all great too.

I have used it for about 5 years. I love it. It doesn't even feel like you are wearing make - up and it does cover imperfections. Although, i wouldn't get it through the infomercial. You might be able to get it cheaper through QVC. That is where I get mine. It last a long time also. I use it at least 5 days a week and have to order it every 4 or 5 months. Good Luck!!!

Yes, It Works!!! The best stuff so far that I have found. I'm older and it works great covering up my red bloches. It evens my skin tone out and gives skin like a twenty year old. My daughter who is in her twentys stopped by and tried it and just loved it and asked for this for her birthday in March. My Mother whos in her sixtys uses it and really likes it too. I don't use all the products just the fountations, blush and eye shadows. I have had no problems with the ordering or return policys or even slowing down shipments the company has been really great! Try it you will like it!

I have used it for a very long time. I LOVE IT! I feels like you aren't even wearing a powder. It makes you feel light and fresh, but you still have a powder on!
