walk around campus and find your classes so you can (1) not get lost and be late on the first day, (2) so you can be on time and get a decent seat (2nd or 3rd row is usually good)and (3) figure out how late you can sleep and still make it to class on time.

also, while you're out on campus, try to meet people. the best place to go to do that are the bookstore (where you're sure to run into people buying the same books you are, which means they may be in your major or even in a class with you). Also try the nearby local hangout (usually a coffee shop).

Are you living in the dorms? if so, get to know your neighbors (usually, it's best to avoid the person you share a bathroom with- just be polite. realize that if a friendship develops that it may be kinda annoying if your suitemate/roommate doesn't give you any personal space.

your first semester, you will be taking some of the easiest classes. that doesn't mean you can slack off- it just means that you may have more time to join a student organization, a sorority (personally, i wouldn't recommend it- way too much partying, even for me!), or even getting a part time job on campus is the way to find people.

Then, when you find people, you will be able to throw great parties. I disagree with the person who said that you should have one now- (1) you probably don't know that many people yet and (2) everyone is busy trying to buy books, move into dorm rooms, etc., etc.

Well, I know this answer isn't any fun but, I've found that at least a week before school starts I have to re-train myself to get to bed early enough and to get up early. Even two days will help some. It makes the first day go a little smoother and you don't feel like you have to crash after you get home. Instead you can head out with your friends for a back to school dinner out! (if you have time after all that homework that gets piled on!)

Well, your chance of having fun is over unfortunally. These 2 days should give you a head start to prepare for college. You should read a bit definally. Anything. The newspaper, a mystery book, a magazine anything! I remember when I was younger, I didn't read or practice my heading for an essay so when they said "Okay class, write your heading and I'll explain about our essay" I said in my head "Ummm......what was my heading again?" lol. I felt so stuipd. Anyways you get my point right? Make sure you sleep tons because the first few days of school can be tough to get comfortable and to realize that your gonna be there for a while. So when college first few days starts don't give yourself a migraine over studying and stuff like that just worry about the little things like friends and dorms (if you have one) and stuff like that. Then a couple weeks later worry about studying and exams! Well, I wish you luck cause this year I got outta my senior year at college. So no more school for me! lol. Anyways, I wish the best of luck cause its gonna be pulling hair tough! lol. Have a great time!

First, congrats on going to college! I graduated in May, myself. If you are going away to school (not in the same city where you reside), try to make sure you visit friends, go out, enjoy the last two days. Mentally prepare for the next 4-5 years of your life. Make sure you have everything for school (clothes, school supplies, financial aid information, etc) ready so there won't be any problems once you get to school. Other than that, good luck!

If you're a partyer, I recommend partying these two days straight! Go to bed late, and wake up even later... that way, you can't say you wasted anytime.

BUT...

If you're not the partying type... I recommend staying in the first day and do things like type up your classes' schedule for the week, and memorize it (optional). Then, the second day, go up to your school, and find out where all of your classes are going to be; buy your books (if you can), and basically get your ready for your first day. And when you get home, why not plan out your outfits for the next two days in advance... ya know?..... just because!

Go to the beach, road trippin', any thing go crazy nothing that you normally do because heck you only hav e a few days left before summer is over and you have to live it up, have fun whatever you are doing and make sure that you do not waste a minute of your last days of freedom, and make sure to cherish your time with your friends.

get lots of rest. if there is anything that you have been putting off you need to get it taken care of so you only have one less thing to worry about.. Starting school can be some what stressful so it is really important to start with a clean slate your first day.. Make sure you have sent in all your bills, done all the laundry, got all your books and supplies, hair and other personal needs met. Hope you have a good year..

The first day you finish up all unfinished projects... this will be your "procrastination day" the one day you Won't procrastinate and get a lot done. Early to bed and early to rise because on the 2nd day you are going to do what ever you think you'll miss the most about your summer!
