This could have a few explanations, but its software included and sold in a package with your computer companys OEM recovery disk. For example.. You have an HP computer package, but it has software on it from Music matchbox, or Ad aware or MacAfee.
These companies arent owned by HP, but are sold in conjunction with the use and operation of the HP computer.
Third party usually refers to someone outside the usual circle of
people..

Thid party software means that it is a software that is not manufactured by the manufacturer of your computer, but may be bundled in your computer. For example, you may have a trial version of Norton Anti-Virus, or Microsoft Office those are third-party software. If you add software, it came from a third-party.

It's a relative term to describe 'other' software that adds-to or enhances some software. So, if when using Windows (and it has it's media player), RealPlayer would be a 3rd party software.
