14. But most malls (at least in my area) All children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult on Friday, Saturday and Sundays. If they are caught without a parent/guardian they are told to call their parents and be picked up. There have been too many kid nappings and rape in many different areas of the US with teens being at the mall or movie theaters without parents/guardians.

I'd have to say around 14 is the most common age to go out without an adult but it really depends on how mature the child is and knows what to do in certain citouations.

I'm 14 and my mom still is worried when I go to the mall. She started letting me go when I got my cell phone when I was 13. I think 13 or 14 is a good age to start going.

I say that they should only go shopping if they have a job and pay for the garbage they buy with their own money. If you aren't mature enough to get a job, than you are not mature enough to spend money and walk around a mall by yourself.

I would say around 14 or 15. It all depends on maturity and responsibility. Safety comes in numbers and it is up to the parents to teach their teen how to be safe and protect themselves.

I think it depends on the responsibility and maturity of the child. I think around 15 is a good age.
