I dont' know about American politcs - I don't understand politics over here either!

The Republicans may lose no more than one or two seats and retain control of congress going into the 08 elections. Might gain seats though if OBL is captured. May have some more Joe Lieberman's that the Dems can throw out of their party. Gain that seat for sure. Lieberman will vote on war issues with Rep if win as independent.

I would highly doubt it. The public doesnt doubt our efforts as a nation to capture terrorist and protect the nation.
The public is just "tired", we as Americans aren't used to having to pay attention to detail. We don't really care about the details of it all. But with the terror going on its a constant reminder that HEY just be aware now!
They want someone to say "relax" again. So capturing OBL would just make them say about time. But it's sorta like what happened with Zarqawi.
Politically they tried to tout it.. but Americans are like ok but when does the fricken war stop?
So in other words its not really comforting to know that they'll just grow another head. Another tape will get released and etc.
So in closing, not to rag on republicans but if an independent came out of the wood work and reassured them and made them feel like they were safe and things were normal again they'll vote for that guy.
We want things the way they were not.. all this "9-11 changed things" who wants to hear that crap? Not me. Not you.

Did GWB not make it priority to catch Osama after 9-11? Here are five years later and still no sightings of Osama. Guess the war in Iraq was more important to GWB.
