They are not really spending the money they are creatively transfering it to Halliburton, Blackwater etc. They are making huge profits and the rich get richer. Remember all that patriotic talk and flags on their labels is just very creative marketing. They go to war for one reason alone so they can fill their pockets with your tax dollars. There is no doubt that Americans are very patriotic and love their country. Unfortunately all we get from Washington is more magic tricks done with smoke and mirrors. Watch the news tonight and watch more of your money disappear.

Iraq is an expensive operation, but not in the trillions,
The US actually spends more on education than our military, .
There have been billions spent on Katrina, it was the worst natural disaster this nation has ever seen, and while the region has improved greatly, unfortunately there was tremendous damage, coupled with alot of corruption & waste, specifically in New Orleans staggering progress.
I do alot of work at a local childrens hospital & they get plenty of federal & state money to ensure that impoverished sick children get the care they need. No sick child or adult is ever turned away from a hospital.
Social Security is not being "squandered", it is just a flawed system, people live longer & take more $$ out of the system than the working people are paying into it, which is why it needs to be changed to something more like a 401K.
People who are in need in our country get medical assistance, (as they should), when they seek it. People who can't afford higher education are eligible for government financial aid when they seek it. What else should we do?

So should we not spend money on ANYTHING but welfare and education? Ok, let's cut out all Arts funding, farm programs and subsidies, infrastructure, airport security, defense, research, national parks, environment. We'll JUST spend money on disasters (so people can spend it on whores and big screen TVs), Edumacation (so the NEA can keep graduating kids who can't read and still never test the teachers who can't teach) and welfare, so that those who don't work get everything that those who DO work have.

You people are always screaming that Bush cut education spending. What a bunch of crap. Bush has increased it every year he's been in office. The 'cuts' are that the Democrats want to DOUBLE education spending every year, and the Republicans CUT THE INCREASE to something more reasonable. To a Dem, there is no limit on how much money is enough for education, just keep throwing more money at it. Don't let people choose to go to private schools instead of funding the gov't school monopoly. And NEVER challenge a teacher or union. That's it. Problem solved.

And don't even mention Social Security. The dem presidents squandered more of that than any republican. And the dems refuse to discuss any alternative to fixing it other than their own, RAISE THE TAX plan. Idiots.

There is no such thing as an 'American' government. America is a continent, you are probably referring to the United States or the United Statesian government.

There is no such a thing as ‘American’ nationality, America is not a nation America is a continent with many nations in it. The US never named itself the name of the United States is a designation it comes from the end of the Declaration of Independence, "WE, therefore, the Representatives of the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, in GENERAL CONGRESS, Assembled...". The preamble to the U.S. Constitution reiterated the phrase: "We the People of the United States..." (The authors of these two documents probably used the phrase "united states" in place of a list of colonies/states because they remained uncertain at the time of drafting which colonies/states would sign off on the sentiments therein.) The geographic term "America" specifies the states' home on the American continent.

It is therefor incorrect to refer to US citizens as Americans with the intent of denoting citizenship, or the United States as America with the intent of denoting a nation. Americans have a term for US citizens, we are called United Statesians by the rest of Americans, to say American with the intent of denoting citizenship or America when we mean the United States reflects poorly on our attitude towards the 70% of Americans that are not United Statesians.

Yeah, well said! The Vietnam War was more expensive in today's money than this current Iraq War, but together they could have payed for universal health care for next twenty-five years. But no, some absolute losers talked their way into ordering our Army into Iraq.
I say, enough! This myopic, arrogant, anti-spiritual and anti- common sense behavior has gone on way to long. The old west mentality of gun play is not the America way.
I am really sorry to say this, but Americans are not the brightest light on the horizon. In fact, America has become a TV educated moronical society of pampered adolescent war mongers.
If America was a wild dog, it would have been put to sleep in the late 1960's.
If we do not get rid or this idea that we are #1 on gods list of wonderful people, we are going destroy ourselves.
Have you no Shame America?

properly, why no longer take an answer from a republican? i must claim you've a magnificent question. it is what i imagine. i'm fullyyt adversarial to welfare, and that i imagine human beings might want to get off their asses and get jobs. now, some human beings have valid well being subject matters that push aside them from being waiting to artwork, yet at the same time as unmarried moms (in case you even call them moms) shop cranking out children as speedy as they could so as that they get a larger welfare verify...that purely sends me over the side. now, i help our troops. they are all tremendous adult men and women human beings that deserve each and every thing they have and extra (they might want to receives a fee extra) yet i do not help the warfare. we do not favor to be spending funds and dropping lives. the component is, united statesa. continues to be in that is imperial degree the position it is attempting to impression different international places and places for its own economic achievement. each and every wealthy usa contained in the international has finished it from historic china to england and germany etc. Now that is our turn to attain this, and anybody looks to have a difficulty with it. the component is our economy isn't okay to help imperialism with out operating a tremendous bill. Now enable me inform you about Obama and Liberals. i will throw contained in the Republican representatives in congress with it to be straightforward considering they are both to blame. i'm a tea social gathering kinda guy. i imagine the president is making a good volume of money making 400K a twelve months. it is not any longer too a lot for the load on his shoulders. under no circumstances hearken to the archives. no matter who you hearken to even if that is cnn or fox or what have you ever, there is continually gonna be blaming at the same time as human beings might want to be deliberating thoughts to get our troops residing house and making jobs for human beings. issues might want to get far extra strict between welfare and having the persons in value.

Because Evil has spread to our own back yard. I remember all to well the horror of watching TV on that dreadfull September 11th to see people opt to leap 100+ floors to their death rather than to be burned alive by jet fuel. These people were minding their own business going about their daily jobs.

I'm not claiming that Iraq single-handedly is responsible for 9/11, but they did support it by allowing terrorists to train in their land without repercussions, not to mention financial aid for this act.

However costly it may seem, the cost of NOT doing so is even a higher price.

I do, however, gleem your intent about the Katrina aid. That went poorly and we need to demand better from our government associations.

Excuse me but "the Peoples Fund"? What is that? I don't need the government holding onto my money for me! I would have more money to retire on if it was not for "Uncle Sam." And if it is the "peoples fund" why is it going broke? "The Peoples Fund" sounds like something like Castro and Chavez would do. Take the taxpayers money, say will hold onto it for you, and then spend it on other things.

It is astonishing (and we can't feed our homeless)! Do you even realize how BIG a trillion is? If you were to count, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, etc. this is how long it would take you to count to a million, billion, and trillion.

A million seconds is 13 days.
A billion seconds is 31 years.
A trillion seconds is 31,688 years

yes we should all stop paying for social security since by the time we retire there would be nothing left since the government keeps robbing it to pay for other things. its our money and they spend it on stuff that don't benefit us. What kind of world is this its like someone going into your bank account and stealing from you and you cant do jack about it..
