Probably for those who have only really watched the last two series of the show. For those of us who have watched older episodes, be it when they were originally aired (I'm old enough to remember watching Sylvester McCoy and Sophie Aldred the first time around!) or through repeats, we're actually going to choose older assistants.

My vote would have to go to Jo, who was one of Jon Pertwee's assistants back in the 1970s.

I disagree i'm a big Dr Who fan and with the exception of when Cassandra entered her body and the last episode (when the tears were probably genuine) i thought she was an awful actress! People confuse the acting with the script, she was a very lucky lady to be offered the role of such a feisty female character, these parts are few and far between. The writer has alot of respect for the women of today and i think that's what people are more happy with than the actual acting. Also noticed that she didn't appear on totally Dr Who(the kids programme) upsetting a lot of children that looked up to her as a role model, i just hate it when people get too big for their boots, look forward to seeing the new assistant. girl power!

Yes she was very good, but lets give the new girl a chance. Remember how everyone was so sure that Christopher Ecclestone could not be replaced but David Tenant has been just as brilliant a Dr. So lets see how the new girl pans out. Hopefully the writers will give her some good stories.

i idea Billie Piper become tremendous as Rose, and that i'm particularly unhappy that she has left. i desire the hot female will be good, she become contained in the only from very last episode of the perfect sequence, which i hit upon unusual, i think she will be in a position to seem thoroughly diverse, yet in spite of the undeniable fact that, i imagine they must have used a countless actress to at least one which has already been contained in the coach

No, my vote would go to Katie Manning who played Jo Grant or Elizabeth Sladen who played Sarah Jane Smith.

For the younger generation yes, I bet the older people would disagree.

No way. Ace was, Silvester Mackoy's (not sure if I spelt his last name right). He was the first Dr that I saw, so they will always be my favorite.
