1. Eat breakfast with two hours of waking, but in the first hour if you can. Eating breakfast helps to get your metabolism working for the day.
2. Drink lots of water, and milk if you can. Cut down, or completely out, coffee, teas, sodas, sports drinks. They have unnecessary calories and sugar that your body has a hard time processing. Even if it says "diet", they frequently contains high amounts of sweeteners, especially high fructose corn syrup. This has been linked to obesity and diabetes in recent years.

3. Eat healthy and smart. Don't grab a bag of chips if there's another option for a snack.
4. Get some form of exercise every day. You don't have to go to the gym every day, in fact it can be bad for you, but if you don't move much at work/school, then come home and do some cleaning. Even something as simple as vacuuming can burn calories.
5. Don't deprive yourself when you have a food craving. Get it in a small amount when you want it. If you try to fight every craving, you'll most likely end up going on a binge of, say, chocolate and ruin everything you've worked for. You can have desert several times a week as long as you eat only a small amount of it. A piece of pie that's 1/8th of the pie, instead of 1/4. Or one candy bar. Don't deprive yourself every day.
6. Avoid large amounts of salt. Don't add it to your food, and don't eat a lot of pre-packaged and pre-preparred foods. They contain high amounts of salt. The salt we use is IODIZED salt. Iodine can and will slow down your thyroid, which helps to control your metabolsim, this especially applies to fast food.
Use your best judgement when it comes to eating and exercising. Talk to a professional before you start, a doctor, dietician, even a fitness instructor can put you on the right track for your needs.

Just take care of your body. People drink artificial drinks and caffeinated sodas and are whining like "why am I so fat" dumb dumb.
Listen to me... Most people dont drink enough water. Also people seem to push fruits out of their diets. HELLOOOOOO!!!!!!! fruits help you lose weight. They help you poop, contain water to help hydration, they are sweet which helps you with cravings for sweets, and they are good for you. You could make fruit smoothies if you like cause I do that. Just put some fruits and a little ice and like a third of a cup of water or juice in the blender and there you go. No added sugar.
People need to realize that foods they eat are usually greasy, and have all kinds of artificial crap. And look at the sodium content. Dont add salt to everything people. Thats really bad for you.
Stress makes you gain weight. So take time during each day in the morning or at night before you go to bed. Sit there or lay there and take slow deep breaths clearing your mind and just relax. Yoga is great too.
But make sure you are getting your water, veges and fruits even if you are just drinking them. There are vegetable drinks at the store that taste good.
Oh OH and one more thing. Dont eat so much bread. Bread is a filler and it doesnt have all the nutrients. It just packs on the pounds. Eat fish cause it has proteins and nutrients. Its really good for you.

There is no secret...never has been...weightloss occurs when you burn more calories than you consume.
Eat healthy, keep your calorie intake to a reasonable level, and exercise regularly.
