Depends on how you like your chemistry. If you like a lot of memorization, arrows and dots then Organic is for you. If you like your chemistry with a little bit of math in it ( A la Group Theory) and also learning about transition metal chemistry and things other than carbon, then Inorganic chemistry is for you.

I guess the university I went to was the odd ball one judging from the previous answers. We had General Chemistry for the 1st years and afterwards you were allowed to choose between starting with Organic Chemistry or starting with Inorganic chemistry and going on from there.

Organic is a lot harder, and also at a higher level. You also need basic inorganic to be able to take Organic. Therefore, take inorganic.

Organic is harder. Most colleges require inorganic before you can take organic anyway.

Go with inorganic. Although most colleges require you to take it before organic anyway.

Orgo at most schools is tough. It's usually the pre-med weed out class. But, you're already doing better than a lot of people in your class. 3/4 is a rough number by anyone's standard. I don't think you should change your major, especially if you like it. I say do your best and take a shot at Orgo. At this point I would be blaming the prof too.

Organic chemistry is definitely harder, even though it involves mainly one element (carbon) and its combinations.
