I am 34 weeks pregnant and I was just wondering when the baby usually drops. Also did anyone else experience a lack of movement once you got so far along. He is moving good and I record it on a kick chart, but it seems as if the farther along I get the less he moves around and doesn't seem to be kicking as hard. The doc said everything was fine, but I was just wondering if anyone else experienced this?

It's really impossible to say precisely when your baby will "drop" or descend into your pelvis, because every pregnancy is unique. If this is your first baby, this process, which is also called lightening, is likely to occur several weeks before labor begins, though it may happen later. For subsequent pregnancies, lightening often doesn't occur before labor starts.

In a first pregnancy, your baby may drop weeks prior to delivery. However, if you've been carrying "low" all along you might not notice the dropping so much. Some moms don't drop until right before labor, especially if they've had a baby before.

The baby's movements after 28 weeks change a bit. You feel less vigorous kicking and cavorting around and it's more like poking and squirming. Baby is basically running out of room! That's good you're checking regularly, though, but if you ever don't notice movement towards the end do the little test to put your mind at ease: Have a snack or a sweet drink and then sit really still or lie down for a while until you feel 10 movements in an hour.

The farther along I got the more she kicked. Usually the baby drops in the last few weeks of pregnancy. Boy. Congrats.

Hi there. My baby dropped when I was about 35 weeks along, and I could actually feel it. I'm certain she was head up, and that evening, there was a HUGE movement, and I'm sure at that point she turned to face head down.

Also, I'm sure my daughter kicked less at the end, just for the fact that there was less available room for her to maneuver!

Of course, it is different for everyone, and my experiences may not reflect yours.

And if you feel something isn't right, make sure to check back with your doctor.

it varies with every woman and every pregnancy. it's possible that the baby has dropped by the 34th week. mine dropped around the 35th week, and i knew because it was suddenly easier to breathe -- she was no longer pressing up so much against my diaphragm. but according to my grandma (possibly an old wives' tale), who birthed 5 kids of her own, there is an initial drop, subsequent rise, and then the final descend. not sure if that actually happened in my case though. btw, the kicking didn't decrease as much as it was felt a little differently. that is, not as full of force and pow as before due to the cramped quarters. don't worry, your little one is doing just fine, still kicking, just not as hard (thank goodness)!

good luck!

I don't recall having any loss of movement with my first child...I'm only 24 wks now so I couldn't tell you with this one. Baby usually drops a week or two before you're ready to give birth although that can vary from person to person.

Yes I have. My belly was huge (i'm 5'2 my husban 6'2, baby was born 21" and 7.5 pds) So lthe ess space he/she has, the less he/she moves. But don't worry if your dr. said everything is ok, don't bother. It seems your are a newby as I was and this sort of things get worry us.
Also, my baby never dropped (hence I had a cesarean) but it supposed to dropped after week 37. If in doubt ask your dr. again.
Hope this comes handy! Good luck!

You can drop anywhere between 35 weeks up to labor day.

As the baby gets bigger there i little space so the kicks will not be as strong nor as often. It is normal.

GL to you and your soon to be new baby!!

the situation is in all probability stress. Too enormous of a cage, too enormous of a conceal, besides as a clean ecosystem all make contributions to stress. i could propose getting smaller hides, a smaller cage, and consistently be helpful you leave new snakes a minimum of each and every week to get used to their new domicile earlier you feed or cope with them in any respect. wish this helps.
