It will come out on its own (or at least mine does). I don't think you're supposed to stick your finger in there. Have some bigger shells available so that it can move to them if it needs to. Otherwise, it will die.

You need to give it at least 3 extra shells of the correct type, and size. The size of the opening is what you need to look at. Needs to be 1/4 inch and larger than the shell he is in now. He will change if you provide him with the correct shells. And he will end up needing lots to have choises.
You can not force it out, they do this on their own, to pull out a crab from his shell you will rupture all vessels in his abdomen and kill him.
He may also be quite shy because from what I am thinking you only have one crab? They are more friendly when you have more than one becasue in the wild they live in colonies of 100 and more. It is important that you get him at least one tank mate or he will not live long.
Also what kind of substrate and tank home have you provided him? Must have sand or coco-fiber bedding or a mixture of both. (not gravel) A glass tank with soild lid. Temperature must be between 76-82 degrees F and humidity must be between 75%-85% relative. You need gauges to montior those conditions 24/7 and hopefully the pet store told you all of that? BUt since they did not insist on you buying another crab then more than likely they did not give you a caresheet or anything.

You don't, the hermit crab will come out by itself. All you need to do is buy a larger shell for it.
Trying to force the crab out could hurt or kill it.

You need to put a bigger shell inside his aquarium and it will change shells itself, at night.
