Seriously, we want the clearest waters, somewhere we can snorkel, swim and have a pretty grand underwater view. My girlfriend and I love the underwater world, and we just want the cleanest beach we can find. We can't go to Headlands tho; beach has been closed due to massive flooding. Please help! :-)

Lake Erie is not nasty or dirty, but snorkling is difficult (like all lakes). Lake Erie is actually considered to be one of the cleanest of all the Great Lakes today with relatively few pollutants, but because it is shallow the sand and mud gets kicked up very easily and would decrease visiblity for snorkeling. I'm not sure where the best spot is for snorkeling where there might be aquatic life or shipwrecks, but the best sandy beaches and swim spots in my opinion are Mentor Headlands, Huron Nickel Plate, and Cedar Point.

There are 8 of the very best

Geneva State Park

Edgewater State Park

Cedar Point

Huntington Beach Park

East Harbor State Park

Euclid Beach/Villa Angela State Park

Headlands Beach State Park

Hope this helps

Lake Erie is pretty cool. If you are coming to Ohio though, you have to go to Cedar Point.

Headlands is nice and quite big, and also there is lake metroparks in Fairport, its small but a very nice beach.

There is no best beach. We're talking nasty lake Erie here. But if you want to go somewhere nice Salt Fork is cool.
