Check out Hayao Miyasaki's work is very good, movies like:
- Laputa: Castle in the Sky
- Spirited Away
- Porco Rosso
- Princess Mononoke
- Nausicaa of the Valley of the Winds
- Lupin III - Castle Cagliastro

There is also 'Ghost in the Shell', the movie or the series both are pretty good. 'Akira' is a classic anime.

As far as series:
- Cowboy Beebop
- Evangelion
- I.R.I.A
- Armitage III
- Naruto
