Sounds like you've got a few random nerves there firing for no reason. Can you remember having any kind of injury to that arm that could have damaged some nerves? Did you maybe have a minor burn on it or something?

-OR-

Think back: Does it seem like one particular person is always around when this happens? Maybe someone close to you is an arm-tickler. You may need to do an intervention.

No idea, really. But have you checked for nerve damage? I don't know if that will cause itch or not, but it does cause numbness. I also remember reading an article a number of years ago about how an unexplained itch was the first sign a man had of cancer.

Ask a doctor about it.

Good luck!

It could be from nerve endings. Sometimes the nerves will cause this to happen. It might eventually become numb. You didn't say where the rash was located, arm, back, chest...anyway, you might want to mention it to a doctor and get his input on it...

It might be photosensitivity -- does it itch if its been in the sun? That, or sweat/heat may cause itching.
