i have a 91 mustang GT and i have unhooked the O2 sensors and driven it like that and i tried putting them back and it just dosent seem to make a difference power wise or gas mileage wise. how much of a difference, if any, do havin 02 sensors make?

It makes a difference in mileage,performance and engine life ; remove the sensor from your air intake and clean it up replace it and you'll see the difference! trust me it's true!

well the o2 sensors basicly tell the cpu the right kind of mixture to throw in 2 the engine, there is sumtime a noticible difference in gas but, i guess in your case it doesn't really matter cuz 4 one its not like u goin to get the best mileage anyways

Not a lot unless they are bad or the car is not running correctly. They read the condition of the exhaust and help adjust the engine to optimum performance. The difference it would make if everything is running correct would not be enough to notice. However since if something goes wrong and the car starts running lean or rich you run the risk of burning out the catalytic converter.

what the o-2 sensor do is burn off any raw gas that goes through your exhause and keeps the emissions down.you can tell if it is bad ,cause your check engine light should come on.check your comp.to see what code you have,you can go to any auto zone and they will check it for you free.
