My 14 year old daugher needs a PDA that she can write on, voice record, and maybe have a dictionary and help with spelling. I don't want a lot of music, game, and video distractors if possible. Looking to spend around $100.00 give or take a few dollars.

It is going to be difficult to find a PDA that does voice recording at that price range you are willing to spend. The latest and greatest Palm handheld is the Life Drive:

The LifeDrive has a 4GB hard drive for a lot of storage, built-in WiFi for Internet access at hotspots, Bluetooth, built-in voice recorder, gorgeous large screen, and great application like Word, Excel, PowerPoint. This retails for $399, but you can get if a bit cheaper on eBay.

For something that is closer to your range, you may want to look at an older Palm handheld calld Tungsten C:

It was originally released in 2003, and is no longer available at retailers. It is a small, very powerful PDA, which includes a built-in keyboard, fast processor, great application, and nice screen. You can get this new on eBay for about $250, or used for about $175.

If you do buy used, make sure that the unit does not have any scratches on the unit or the screen, and includes all the accessories. To use the voice recorder, you will need to buy a special headset you can find on eBay as well.

A basic Palm PDA is the Z22:

It would have anything you need, but the voice recorder. It retails for $99, and is a good PDA, but does not offer much flexibility if you want to add storage, or use many applications.

Indeed dell and palm are a good option, but you might also want to have a look at http://www.dealtime.com/xPP-PDAs or http://www.shopping.com/xPP-PDAs

Both of these sites give you the option to look at all different kind of makes and also select on price, and functionality/features.

Good luck!

extremely of having the 650 on your 'narrowed down' determination, you need to evaluate the 680, or perhaps the 750. they are rather plenty extra useful, extra progressed fashions (fantastically the 750, the main progressed). seem it up, and enable me be responsive to in case you're exciting in getting the two; I rather have a 680 (pink coloration), and a 750 on the industry. extra useful fee than retail fee via the way. touch me. . .

Iwould buy a Palm Z22, and then look for a small second hand dictaphone.

The Palm Z22 is small, simple, but powerful, and new programs are dead cheap.
